Sandy Collier

I’ve been a stylist for 38 years and love this profession! At one point, after getting my degree at U of L, I considered changing professions, but didn’t see anything that could compare with being a stylist. I enjoy the ongoing relationships with my guests and look forward to their visits. When someone comes in to see me and leaves looking and feeling better about themselves, it makes my day. Since buying the salon in January 2008, I don’t get to spend quite as much time behind the chair. However, I stay busy learning the business end of the salon and growing new talent.

It’s a family affair here at the Chopping Block. My husband Don is a tremendous help managing the finances, paying bills, and doing the payroll. My daughter Nicole handles all the inventory, retail, and front desk staff training & scheduling. She is like my right arm and helps keep me on track with reminders. Last, but not least, my sister Renee, has just finished re-designing our web site, keeps it up to date, and writes our newsletters.

When I have some spare time I usually play golf, listen to audio books or read my kindle. Spending time with my grand kids is the best though and I never get enough of them! I have 3 cats that make me laugh and lighten up my day.

I love my job! From an early age, I always knew I would end up doing something involving fashion, style, and hair. I have been lucky enough to have been able to follow my dreams and every day I am allowed to showcase my creativity through my clients. I have thoroughly enjoyed working at the Chopping Block for the past 25 years and, for most of that time, I have worked with the same wonderful group of amazingly talented people.

My favorite thing about my job is meeting and interacting with people and working with my clients to achieve my goal - making them Happy! I am married and have an eleven year-old daughter, who is the love of our lives. We have a fourth member of our family - Louie, who is a two year old golden-doodle. In my spare time I love spending time with my family.

I am an associate and have trained under master stylist, Regina Fowler, for the last year. I love my job and have a true passion for making people feel great about themselves. My goal is to meet and exceed every client’s needs. I offer all types of hair services including cuts, color, special occasion styles and keratin protein treatments. I also do manicures, pedicures, Shellac and waxing. My husband, Shane, and I have been married for 15 years and have 3 children. Will is 12, Maddie is 9 and Sam is 5.

I am a manager and salon coordinator and have been at The Chopping Block for almost 4 years. Owner, Sandy Collier, is my mom and my best friend. I manage the front desk and am in charge of scheduling, ordering retail, inventory and training. I also sell Lia Sophia jewelry and would love to book a party for you! I am also the mother of a beautiful daughter, Ramsi, and enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, Mark, and his daughter, Shelby.

I have been involved in the beauty industry since 1993. I have worked with photographers, celebrities,and bridal parties to create the perfect blend of glamour and beauty. I have also worked in the theater as a wig master and makeup artist with The Kentucky Opera - for 8 seasons, Actors Theater, and other independent productions. I am an educator in salons to help mold new talent stylist into prominent professionals and have competed on a nation level in the North American Hairstyling Awards. I specialize in precision hair cutting, and haircolor from mild to wild.

Regina Fowler

I served my apprenticeship under "Andrea" of Andrea of London, former apprentice to Videl Sassoon. I have continued my studies with Tony and Guy, creaters of Bed Head products, Sebastian International in Los Angeles, CA, annual trips to Pivot Point International in Chicago, Redken 5th Avenue in New York and Team Conference in Paris, France. I have been at The Chopping Block since it opened in 1985 and now serve as an educator for the associates. I pride myself on personalized designs and exceptional customer care.

I grew up in Louisville, KY and graduated from House of James Cosmetology College and reside in St. Matthews with my son, Graham, soon to be a graduate of Trinity high school. Graham also works at The Chopping Block part-time. In my spare time you will find me hanging with the youth group of Melbourne Heights Baptist Church where I have an art ministry to raise money for youth activities.

I am originally from Russia, but have lived in the United States for over ten years. I am very passionate about what I'm doing, which includes hair, skin care, make-up, nails and waxing. I love a challenge and love to work with all types of hair and skin. I am very energetic and outgoing and I love meeting new people.

I have been a stylist for 19 years. I love the flexibility of my profession and the ability to make people feel good about themselves. My specialties include highlighting and men’s cuts. Outside of work, I enjoys spending time with family and finding new places to eat with friends.
